Siamese Adoptions
Adoption Details
Adoption fees for Texas Siamese Rescue range from
$100 to $175 and include vet work as listed below.
We spay or neuter all of our Cats prior to placement and most of our Kittens depending on their size and readiness.

We believe in providing each cat with the following vet work prior to placement.
Such vet work includes (average cost):
- Blood tests for Feline Leukemia and Feline Aids - $40
- Spaying or Neutering - $45-$75
- Thorough Vet Exam - $25 - $55
- Vaccines (as required) - $25 - $60
- Treatment for fleas, earmites and worms - $25
- Presurgical blood work where necessary, and dentals for older cats $100-$300
As you can see, the adoption fee covers only a portion of the per cat cost.
While we make a substantial effort to ensure the cats are healthy prior
to placement, please understand that these are Rescue Cats from unknown
backgrounds, and you need to be prepared for possible Medical and/or
Behavioral issues that may arise after an adoption.
Interested adopters go through a careful screening process to include
reference checks, telephone interviews, and where appropriate, home visits.
No Siamese will be placed in a new home which allows cats to go outside.
The adoptive owners agree to give the Rescue Organization from which they
adopted the option of reclaiming the cat, should the adoption not work to
the advantage of the new owner and the cat.
To begin the Adoption process, complete these
simple steps:
- Review the Adoption Policies. They differ slightly for each Center, so
it's a good idea to review them. View a summary of our Policies at:
Adoption Policies
- Complete BOTH the Adoption and Vet Reference Forms in full, and
send them, along with a $10.00 processing fee to:
Texas Siamese Rescue
Attn: Adoptions
1123 N. Corinth St
Corinth, TX 76208
- We will acknowledge receipt of your application, and once the references
and vet checks have been completed, you will then be contacted by a designated
Rescue Center representative for an interview.
- Once the interview is complete, and approval has been received, the
Rescue Center will then discuss the specifics of the cat you are interested in.
(We work very hard to ensure we match each cat with the right situation,
as evidenced by our successful placement rate!)
(NOTE: While basic reference checks are sometimes completed in 3-5 days,
the adoption approval process can take up to two weeks depending on
response time from refs, vets, and other requirements. We are volunteers,
but you can be assured we are working as hard as we can to process your
application as quickly as we can.)

To ease the burden of transportation, we encourage you to adopt from
the Rescue Center closest to you, and to visit that Center first if possible.
|
- Once the approval process is completed and a Siamese has been selected,
your Rescue Center will work with you to arrange transport for your new
Meezer as soon as possible.
We have several methods for transporting our Cats. If at all possible,
we hope you will come visit the Center so that you can better understand
your cats purrsonality. If this is not possible, the Transport Director
will be in touch with you to let you know the status of transportation
arrangements using our Transportation System. While not required, we do
hope that you would be able to participate in the transport to some degree.
Texas Siamese Rescue uses two forms of Air Transport as needed:
1. In Cabin - for kittens, elderly and infirm kitties, or if a business
traveler is available. This normally means a fee of $80 for Cat Airfare
plus $100 (at a minimum) for transporter airfare (usually a mileage or
voucher based ticketing arrangement) and travel expenses will need to be
paid. In all cases, arrangements are made and discussed with you prior to
any transport commencement.
2. Counter to Counter Service - AA Priority Parcel and similar services on
other carriers. This means for a fee of $180 (current cost is $167.06, plus
health certificates) for the total transport. We will sned your kitty in a
comfortable hard sided carrier with a litter box and water and food.
He/She will check in 60 minutes
prior to departure and be available for pick up by you within 30 minutes of
arrival. You will be involved in the flight selection, and notified when
kitty is aboard. You will also be required to sign a Transportation
Agreement and will need to send our carrier back after the trip. This
service is subject to weather restrictions (45-85 degrees F) and
availability.
