Disclosure Statement for N. Texas Siamese Rescue Central Org. Inc - dba Texas Siamese Rescue (and internationally dba Siamese Rescue Alliance - TX)

All five Rescues represented on this website are Individual 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations, separately funded but aligned along similar missions and goals. The following information applies Only to the Texas Siamese Rescue organization.

The Texas Siamese Rescue organization was incorporated in November of 1998. In an IRS Letter dated September 21, 1999, TSR was determined to be exempt from federal income tax under section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code as an organization described in section 501(c)(3). We received our final, permanent determination letter from the IRS May 14, 2003. Our Federal Tax ID is: 75-2791034.

The Texas Siamese Rescue Organization has no members and is a domestic, non-stock corporation organized exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The governance of the corporation is performed by the Officers and Directors. The number of Directors constituting the Corporation's Board of Directors is no less than five and no more than ten. The Directors select their successors from the community. The Officers are elected by the Board annually. The current Succession Plan provides for replacements to the Managing Director, Secretary, and Treasurer. It also funds continued operations through insurance poilices on current Officers lives dedicating proceeds to the organization. The premiums are all paid by the individual Officers.

Meetings of the Board of Directors are held at a minimum every six months. However the operations quorum of 4 members holds weekly and bimonthly conference call meetings. We also poll Directors as required for life threatening cat medical decisions.
The Texas Siamese Rescue organization is run primarily by volunteers. The Officers and Members of the Board of Directors receive no compensation.

(Expenses vary month to month due to the ever changing number and needs of our cats - our largest budget item is medical which currently runs about $60K a year.)

Services Provided
Web Services: The Siamese Cat Rescue Center of Virginia graciously hosts the website www.siameserescue. org, and provides Texas Siamese Rescue and other Affiliate Rescue Centers with webspace and webservices at no cost. Costs for these services are paid through a portion of the funds collected through their fundraising activities. We can continue to participate as long as we meet their requirements and comply with the joint policies and procedures.
Affiliate Centers are encouraged to develop their own fundraising programs, including sponsorship programs, affiliate memberships and others as they so choose. Donations, whether financial or of goods, are always welcome and needed by all Centers, and should be addressed to the Center of your choosing.
Copies of our most recent IRS Form 990 can be found on the web at www.guidestar.com, and an Annual Report is available upon request in April of each year for the previous calendar year.

Euthanization Policy
The Texas Siamese Organization is a no-kill Rescue Center. Euthanizations are allowed only with veterinarian recommendation and by Board approval and only for the following reasons:
a) The cat has been deemed ill or suffering to the point that medical intervention will not alleviate such suffering.
b) The behavior of such animal is deemed so extreme by the Board of Directors, significant medical and behavioral interventions have been tried without success, and alternative placements have been considered.
